Winter is never easy. It's tough enough with the short days but for the second winter in a row the pandemic has turned our lives upside down.
But just when we're feeling sorry for ourselves, we think about our kids. It's not easy to be a kid these days. Life is unpredictable. And it's hard to tell your kids what they should be looking forward to when we don't know what tomorrow is going to bring. At a time when the whole world could use some extra love, it seems like now is the hardest time to give it.
So if you're looking to put a little ray of sunshine into the life of a kid you love, our mysteries make a great gift for Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day may be a bit of a made up holiday, but this year everyone could use an excuse to have some fun. So brighten up those dark winter days with some mystery, adventure and something for your kids to look forward to in the mailbox.
And while a mystery is pretty great, this year what kids really need is the gift of love. Give them the gift of love even if you feel like you’ve got nothing in you to give. Because that’s the funny thing about love. The more you give the more you get. And now, more than ever, it seems like the whole world could use just a little bit more.
My 11 year old and 14 year old grandkids had a great time working on this mystery. It especially appealed to my 11 year old granddaughter who loves to solve puzzles.
My 8-year-old was convinced this mystery was real! The weathered messages in code, antique keys, newspaper clippings, and detailed backstory really brought it to life. He had a lot of fun decoding messages and puzzling over the letters, either with us or with his friends.
